The slogans, which read in Urdu “Jo Quaid Ka Ghaddar Hai Vo Maut Ka Haqdar Hai” were apparently signed by ‘lovers’ of MQM founder Altaf Hussain. Last week, posters of Altaf Hussain were also removed from Azizabad and Mukka Chowk in Karachi.
Altaf Hussain was disowned by MQM’s senior leader Farooq Sattar after he had made an incendiary speech against Pakistan in which he incited his supporters to attack a private news channel’s office. Following his speech, scores of MQM supporters stormed ARY News’ office in Sadar and vandalised it.
Sindh Inspector General (IG) A.D Khawaja stated that painting slogans across Karachi were an attempt to sabotage the peace of the province.
