Sindh Health Minister Dr Sikandar Ali Mandhro on Monday paid a surprise visit to Taluka Hospital Sehwan Sharif.
The minister inspected different wards of the hospital, listened to patients’ complaints and expressed displeasure over lack of patient care.
Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Gulam Rasool and lady doctor Rozina Qureshi informed the minister about lack of doctors in the hospital. Rozina said that she is the only lady doctor in the hospital since 14 years.
Later, the Sindh health minister visited a hunger strike camp staged by social workers and local politicians against the shortage of doctors and paramedical staffs in Abdullah Shah Institute and Trauma Center (ASITC).
He talked to people in the camp assured them of meeting their demands and got the hunger strike called off after successful negotiation. He thanked the political and socials organisation’s leader for cooperation in this regard.
