The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of bail application filed by Uzma Rao alias Tooba for two weeks in model Abeera murder case.
Justice Aalia Neelum heard the case and adjourned the hearing as the court was apprised that the police had not submitted the case record despite notices for the purpose.
Petitioner’s counsel submitted that the police wanted to delay the matter and it was the reason that no record had been submitted as of yet.
At this, the court expressed annoyance over non-submission of the case recorded by the police and adjourned the further hearing for two weeks, with a direction to city police chief for taking action against the responsible and ensuring the submission of record on next date.
Shera Kot police had registered a case against Uzma Rao alias Tooba and her two accomplices for killing Abeera Iqbal, who was a student at Punjab University and was living in a hostel.
