The Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) will hold its fourth meeting on August 15 at Pak China Friendship Centre, near Shakarparian, Islamabad.

Previously, the IMC met on July 27 for the third time. Since its last meeting, the mayor has succeeded in wrestling back three main revenue generating parks from the Capital Development Authority (CDA). The F-9 Park, Lakeview Park, Marghazar Zoo were under the management of CDA and rest parks and recreational places were transferred to IMC.

Last week, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ordered the transfer of these three venues to IMC in a meeting with Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz, Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and others.

In the previous IMC meeting, Mayor Aziz and others blamed bureaucratic high ups of impeding elected members from practicing power and taking decision for their electorate. Both treasury and opposition benches were on same page as they denounced delay in transferring personnel and machinery from CDA to IMC.

The agenda of the fourth IMC meeting includes special prayer for martyrs of Quetta terrorist attack, confirmation of minutes of third meeting, report of the ‘Conduct of meeting By-laws’ Committee and any other matter that is deemed urgent and necessary.
