Former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the deaths of about a dozen people due to rain in Sindh and directed the Sindh government to start relief efforts on emergency basis in affected areas.
In a statement issued in Islamabad on Saturday, he appreciated Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah’s visit of Karachi city and instructed party leaders and workers including members of the national and provincial assemblies to take part in relief efforts and play an active role in solving basic problems of public. He also instructed to take necessary actions to prevent spread of diseases due to rain. The former president condoled with affected families who lost their dear ones due to rain-related incidents.
