The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Thursday upheld the death penalty of two convict-brothers Namoos Khan and Mudeer Khan who had killed three nephews 13 years ago.
The brothers were sentenced to death by trial court in 2003 after they were found guilty of killing their three nephews Liaqat, Shoukat and Idrees on domestic violence in 2003.
The convicts challenged their capital punishments in the SC and requested the court to set-aside the judgment of the trial court. However, the SC bench while hearing the case at its Karachi registry, dismissed the pleas after recording arguments from both sides. The court observed that they found no reason for reducing the appellant’s sentence from death to life-imprisonment.
