Poultry prices go down amid fears of bird flu

The broiler chicken has been affected from bird flu and as a result rates have gone down significantly.

According to the sources in Punjab Livestock Department, in Faisalabad region, broiler chicken has been affected badly by a kind of bird flu in the ongoing monsoon season.

Media reports said that consumers are now reluctant to buy broiler chicken and that rates of broiler poultry is going down by every passing day.

Poultry farmers fearing that rates may further decline, selling their stocks at a lowered price.  And reportedly some poultry farmers are even selling their sick chickens in market.

Few days ago, rate of live broiler chicken in retail market was Rs190 per kg, now it is being sold at Rs.140 kg and even low.
