Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday took notice of price hike of life saving drugs for cancer, diabetes, hepatitis and many other diseases. The prime minister has sought a report from the Health Ministry about the price hike.
The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has issued notice of increasing medicine prices according to which prices have been raised by 2.5 per cent.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked the Health Ministry to report to him immediately why the price hike has taken place.
However, according to the notification, those pharmaceutical companies which have already increased the prices by obtaining a stay order from the Sindh High Court won’t be allowed to raise their prices.
