Punjab govt to provide free treatment facilities to poor patients

Punjab Agriculture Minister Dr Farrukh Javed has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led Punjab government is committed to providing the best and free treatment facilities to the poor and deserving patients of the province.

He stated this while talking to media persons after inquiring about the health of seven-year-old Amina injured in a gas cylinder explosion used for filling balloons in Pakpattan and under treatment at children ward of the Teaching Hospital of Sahiwal.

Dr Javed further said that the provincial government was spending a major part of the budget on treatment and providing free medicines to poor patients at government-run hospitals of the province.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Babar Hayat Tarar and District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rizwan Nazeer were also present on the occasion.

The MS of the hospital Dr Abdul Majeed told the minister that face and eyes of the girl were affected due to helium gas cylinder explosion, but her condition was out of danger.

Dr Javed said that the provincial government has taken the notice of incidents of exploding of gas cylinders used for filling balloons and on directives of CM Shehbaz Shahbaz, a strategy was being chalked out to avoid such incidents in future.

It is worth mentioning here that 13 children, including seven-year-old Amina, were injured when balloon filling gas cylinder went off during a wedding ceremony in Pakpattan three days ago.
