Religious scholars and clerics from various schools of thought on Wednesday said that Islam does not allow any sort of extrajudicial murder and killings on account of religion, honor, and prejudice.

Addressing ‘Ulema Mashaikh Convention’ they said that ulema and religious leadership in Pakistan should wage united efforts to eliminate extremist thinking and radical mindset which was problematic for the entire world and Pakistan.

The convention was organised by Pakistan Ulema Council.

The speakers stated that extremist organizations like Daesh (IS) were being formed and strengthened to defame Muslims and Islam across the world, adding that religious sections of society in Turkey had played a frontline role in defeating the revolt against the democratic government.

Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi addressing the convention urged scholars to come forward to educate youths of the country against extremist ideologies.

He said that India was among those major countries providing arms and ammunition to Daesh and warlords of Daesh attacking all those countries which are against Bashar al-Assad and supporting people of Syria.

He also said that Muslim Ummah should get united against all those aiming at playing havoc with peace and security of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Ashrafi also appreciated the unanimous stance of Islamic world on prevailing Turkish issue, adding that Indian forces cannot sustain more oppression against people of Kashmir and the day is not far off when people of Kashmir will get freedom from India.

Pakistan Ulema Council Islamabad President Maulana Abdul Hameed Sabri said that “Takfeeri and Kharji” groups were responsible for attacking at Madina and all these elements are traitors of Muslims and Islam. The entire Muslim world acknowledged the bravery of the security personnel who foiled attacks at Masjid-e-Nabvi.

He said that contrary to all sorts of prejudices and sectarian affiliations, Pakistan Ulema Council is making efforts for the cause of “Toheed-o-Sunnah”.

Pakistan Ulema Council Punjab Vice President Maulana Nauman Hashir said that PUC is making efforts for the rights of non-Muslims in Pakistan, adding that Constitution of Pakistan has categorically defined rights for non-Muslims living in Pakistan and every section of society should function as per their constitutional parameters.

Pakistan Ulema Council General Secretary Maulana Tahir Aqeel Awan speaking on this occasion said that people of Pakistan will not hesitate to lay any sort of sacrifice for the defence and security of Haramain Al-Sharifain and Turkey.

He also warned US, India, and other foreign forces to shun conspiracies against Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Ahmed addressing the convention said that conspiracies were being hatched against the Muslim world with a sole objective to weaken the Ummah. Amidst this scenario, Muslim leadership needs to pursue the way of their ancestors and seek guidance from Quran and Sunnah.

He said, “Quran terms killing of an individual as killing of the entire humankind and elements playing havoc with the blood of innocent people could neither be Muslims nor representatives of Muslims.”

Later, talking to media, Ashrafi regretted the honor killing of social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch and demanded a merit-based investigation of the killing.

The convention also approved a resolution condemning the killing of Mufti Habib-ur-Rehman and demanded of Sindh Government to arrest killers of Mufti Habib-ur-Rehman.
