Relief goods distributed among flood victims

Relief goods consisting of non-food items were distributed among the flood-affected people of Ursoon which was hit by flash flood on July 2. Member Provincial Assembly Saleem Khan was chief guest on the occasion.The affected people said that the area was badly damaged by flood on July 2 and its infrastructure was lying damaged and no rehabilitation work was completed until now.They said that affected people of Ursoon were still deprived of potable drinking water, roads as well as irrigation channels which were also badly washed away by flood and their only road was covered by thousands heavy stones rolled by flood.They still carrying edible things on their back travelling by feet as no road presently existed in the valley, they complained.They said there was no school, no hospital and no college in maximum areas of Ursoon valley. They demanded for early construction of their roads, drinking water schemes, irrigation channels, hydro power houses as well as establishment of schools, basic health unit and college.Addressing on the occasion, MPA Saleem Khan assured the affected people that he would leave no stone unturned in addressing these problems. He announced establishment of a primary school and Rs 1 million for repair of link road of Ursoon. He also announced releasing of Rs 0.5 million for reconstruction of mosque of Paitasoon and Rs 0.5 million for a seminary of Paitasoon which were washed away by the flood.Later, he distributed 50 tents, 150 blankets and 150 quilts among the flood victims on behalf of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
