Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Jahangir Khan Tareen said that the government should present the actual growth figures instead of giving wrong statistics to the nation to hide its poor performance.
He said that the wrong statistics in the recently conducted poverty survey is the clear reflection of the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz’s (PMLN) government failed strategy.
The PTI secretary general said that the government’s performance can be judged from the designed and planted poverty survey conducted by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform.
He said that the government’s claim of completely eradicating poverty from the country till 2030 is nothing but a mere political gimmick. He expressed his surprise on the government’s tall claims of eliminating poverty when GDP growth rate is only three per cent.
Coming down hard on the government, Tareen said that the government again neglected the education and health sectors in the recent budget.
He said that labourers and farmers of the country are passing through great ordeal these days owing to the PMLN’s anti-people policies.
Expressing concerns over the fast decline in exports and record decrease in the agriculture productions, he said this has caused an increase in the poverty ratio in the rural as well as urban areas.
About the Punjab government, he said that millions of children are out of schools in the largest province but unfortunately, the provincial government seems in no mood to take any step to address the issue.
He further said that the PMLN government should face the bitter ground realities instead of running advertisements and conducting planted surveys to hide its poor performance.
Tareen went on to say that the government should better accept its weak governance rather than misleading the masses by running ads.
He warned that the government should improve its governance or else it would be sent home soon.
