A huge blaze engulfed a multi-storey residential building Sunday (today) was brought under control after a three-hour-long battle in Karachi’s Clifton area.
The fire erupted on the fourth floor of the building and quickly spread to other adjoining floors. As the fire broke out, residents rushed to the rooftop and yelled out for help.
On getting information, four vehicles of fire brigade reached the scene, however; more fire tenders were called in after observing the intensity of the blaze.
A man was taken out in a dead state from the eighth floor of the commercial building in Clifton Block 4. According to the fire brigade officials, the victim was a security guard and died due to suffocation.
According to Chief Fire officer Tehseen Ahmed, the fire was extinguished with the help of five fire tenders and one snorkel.
It was reported that the fire was caused by an explosion by an AC compressor and intensified over time.
Sindh Minister for Local Government Jam Khan Shoro also arrived at the place and reviewed the situation.
This was the four fire the erupted in three days.
