Rs12b allocated for development plan in AJK budget

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Finance Minister Chaudhry Latif Akbar said that Rs 12 billion have been allocated for the development plan with a priority to communication, education and health sectors.

Addressing the post budget news conference in Muzaffarabad‚ he said that next fiscal year’s budget would bring socioeconomic uplift in the state.

He said significant amount has also been allocated for promotion of tourism and development of hydropower sector which would create many job opportunities for the youth.

Akbar said the government would continue its Soft Loan Scheme for small businessmen to expand their ongoing businesses or to establish new ones.

He said sufficient funds have been allocated to provide interest free loans to skilled women for their business activities.

He said Rs 1 billion have been set aside to provide loans to government employees.
