The lady health workers (LHWs) on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the Health Department for assigning them anti-polio duties during Ramzan.
A large number of LHWs participated in the protest demo held at Kachehri Chowk.
The protesters were holding banners on which slogans were written against the anti-polio drive to be held from June 27.
They demanded that the campaign should start after Eid. They threatened that if the drive began in the last 10 days of Ramzan, all the LHWs would boycott it.
The protesters blocked the road and raised slogans against the Health Department.
As per schedule, the five-day campaign will initiate from June 27.
Polio is one of the most devastating disease that should be kicked out of the world as soon ans possible,i dont understand what this day means to the people of Parkistan but guys,when you see a child who suffered polio you will agree with me that its a wake up call to us all to do what it can take to be done at any time on any day
