Founder of Edhi Foundation Abdus Sattar Edhi’s son Faisal Edhi has said that his fathers’ medical condition is stable now after his routine dialysis session.

Earlier this month, he rejected an offer by former President Asif Ali Zardari for treatment abroad.

PPP Senator Rehman Malik visited Edhi in the hospital with Zardari’s proposal of treatment abroad. Edhi, however, declined the offer with a simple gesture, indicating he preferred to receive treatment in Pakistan.

The philanthropist was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2013 but has been unable to get a transplant due to frail health.

Earlier on Friday, in a befitting tribute to the work of Abdul Sattar Edhi, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its support for the Edhi Foundation. The announcement was made by Chairman PCB, Shaharyar Khan, at a press conference.

As part of the arrangement, the Pakistan Cricket Team will be seen sporting Edhi Foundation’s logo on the playing shirts for the ODI and T20I leg of its upcoming tour of England and Ireland. This partnership honours the services of the great humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi, inarguably one of the world’s most selfless philanthropists.

This would be the first time in Pakistan cricket team’s history that players would wear logos of a charitable organisation on their official kit.

Sharing his thoughts on this partnership, Chairman PCB Shaharyar M. Khan said: “We feel honoured to associate ourselves with the work of such a great human being. PCB is cognisant of its responsibility to give back to the society and this is a continuation of our policy to support and promote such initiatives.”

Chairman PCB presented a cheque of Rs 0.5 million to Edhi Foundation. On behalf of PSL, Najam Sethi handed out a cheque of Rs 0.5 million for Edhi Foundation.

Misbahul Haq, Azhar Ali, and Sarfraz Ahmed attended ceremony to endorse the charitable organisation before departing for England tomorrow morning at 9:00am.

  1. We all have to die one day. But if we make a balance-sheet of what we did during our life, Mr Edhi will be in prifit and a rich soul to be received in the heavens.
It was very natural for him to snub a persone like Mr 10%.
