A woman who threw acid on a 22-year-old man after he allegedly refused to marry her has been arrested from Multan’s Makhdoom Rasheed area.
The victim was critically injured in the acid attack. Police said a mother of four children identified as Shamim, and 25-year-old Sadaqat had illicit relations and when he refused to marry Shamim, she threw acid on him.
Sadaqat was shifted to Nishtar Hospital for medical assistance.
Makhdoom police have initiated action for further investigation. Shamim will be produced before the court after being found guilty of the crime.
Acid attacks are one the most common form of violence against women in Pakistan, but such attacks against men are rare.
