The post of Medical Superintendent (MS) at Lyari General Hospital (LGH) Karachi has been lying vacant for the last two weeks, badly affecting the administrative affairs of the healthcare.
Reliable sources at LGH said that the administrative affairs of the hospital are badly affected as the post of the hospital’s MS has been lying vacant for last 15 days. The high-ups of health department have failed to appoint any official on the vacant post, they complained.
They said the unavailability of administrative officers has partially disturbed the patient care while salaries, bills and other affairs have also been affected.
They said LGH former MS Dr Khalil Pathan was removed from his post on May 30 and this key post is lying vacant since then.
They added that doctors, paramedics and other staff are not attending their duties properly in the absence of any administrative officer.
Sindh Health Secretary Ahmed Baksh Narejo was not available for comment.
