As many as two alleged criminals were injured in an encounter with police in the metropolis on Saturday.
According to sources, the encounter took place near Eidgah Ground in Landhi when a police team, on a tip-off, carried out a raid in the area. The alleged criminals opened fire on the police party. As a result of crossfire, two criminals, Basit, aged 18, son of Muhammad Jawed, and Hassan, aged 20, son of Muhammad Ali were injured, police said.
Police arrested them in an injured condition and recovered weapons from their possession. They were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment.
