Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday announced support for farmers protesting outside the Punjab Assembly for the last two days.
The farmers cannot be left at the mercy of ‘anti-farmer’ governments, said the PPP chairman.
Bilawal directed the party leaders to join the sit-in of farmers. PPP Punjab Organising Committee leaders Chaudhry Manzoor Wattoo and Rana Farooq have joined the sit-ins of the farmers at Mall Road, the statement said.
The farmers are protesting against the government for violating an argument reached with them a few months ago.
