Heat Stroke

Metropolis Karachi is once again confronting inconveniences because of the heat wave. It appears that our politicians could not learn from the previous year when 1200 precious lives were lost owing to load-shedding since the same case is occurring today in Karachi instead of the government having taken any solid measures to resolve the issue. This year is going to be even worse than the previous year if immediate actions are not taken. We have to just see the scenario for the facts. There are frequent power break-downs in Jinnah Hospital continuously due to which patients are facing acute problems. I urge those politicians who are sleeping under the A.C and spending a relieved life to just spend 1 hour in Hospital or other public place – then you will understand the pain of others.

  1. Shortage of water can only add to the misery of hot weather, Hub dam is supplying only 100 million gallons per day to Karachi, and Keenjhar lake is supplying 500 mgd, how many people know that keenjhar lake is fed by Kotri barrage, which is fed by Tarbela dam, which has lost half its storage capacity in 40 years service of the nation, will it be able to provide this service for another 15 years while we wait for Bhasha dam, and ignore Kalabagh dam which can come on stream in five years.
