Police arrests two suspects over drug trafficking

Two suspects have been arrested by the police over drug trafficking, local media reported on Saturday.

Cantt Police got a tip-off that a man Deen Mohammad and his accomplice were arriving in Gujranwala from Peshawar with a large quantity of drugs.

Deen Mohammad and his accomplice were apprehended by the policemen deployed at the entry and exit points of the city and recovered 10 kilogrammes of hashish and one kilogram of opium from their possession.

Police said that a drug trafficker arrested earlier had provided the clue about the drug smugglers.

Deen Mohammad hails from Peshawar and supplies drugs to different parts of the country especially Punjab, police officials said.

The investigation has been underway and disclosures can be expected, said the police sources.

  1. 10 kilos of opium? That's why smuggling drugs is so risky. I can't believe they tried to bring this through the airport. I only really know the TSA, are other international airports that lose that someone can smuggle 10 kilos of opium through?
