Members of the National Assembly Daniyal Aziz and Talal Chaudary Thursday said that the procedure for questions and answers was well-defined in parliament.
Addressing a joint press conference, the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said that the opposition had been making futile efforts to make the matters complicated as they had been shying away from the judicial commission to consider the Panama Leaks.
The PML-N leaders said that they had already given clear answers to the questions earlier raised by the opposition in Wednesday’s press talk thus these do not require any further elaborations.
They said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif did not own any offshore company.
“The PM has been paying all the taxes and the relevant record can be found from the concerned departments.”
They said that the family members of Nawaz Sharif own assets abroad and they had been abiding by the laws of the states where they had been inhabiting.
Answering a question, Daniyal said that the Prime Minister Nawaz would answer the questions at the appropriate levels.
He said the opposition did not deserve to ask questions from the prime minister as they did not represent the whole parliament nor the nation.
“They have very small representation in the parliament as compared to the treasury benches. We enjoy the majority and minority cannot claim to be representing the entire nation or the parliament.”
“We will not accept dictates from the opposition in any case,” the two PML-N leaders said in a firm tone.
Daniyal pointed out that the opposition seemed to be satisfied as they did not ask any supplementary questions which had already been replied by them.
He said that the questions raised by them had not been answered by the opposition.
“Opposition is playing gimmick and had been backtracking to their earlier demands one-by-one.”
Talal said that Prime Minister Nawaz had no link with Al-Taufeeq case and there was no offshore company in his name which he already told the nation in his address.
Daniyal Aziz said names of Imran Khan’s two sisters were also in the Panama Papers along with a number of other members of PTI.
