A seven-year-old boy was found dead from an open manhole in Karachi’s Mawach Goth area on Wednesday.
According to details, the officers recovered Awais’ body, who went missing from home three days ago, from an open manhole in Mawach Goth area. Deceased Awais died after falling into the open manhole. Karachi’s open manholes and streams are continuously posing a threat to citizens’ lives but the local administration has not taken any concrete step in this regard.
Earlier, a social activist Alamgir Khan had also highlighted the issue with his campaign ‘fix it’ that faced criticism and legal action from the Sindh government but the drive was heavily supported by locals.
