Former prime minister and leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Sunday said that demanding resignation from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was his party’s principled stand.
Interacting with media here, Ashraf said that “we are people who have sacrificed a lot for the betterment of the country”.
Criticising PM Sharif over Panama Papers revelations, the former premier said “we don’t have anything abroad as we are true well-wishers of Pakistan”. He also alleged the incumbent government of sending former military ruler Pervez Musharraf abroad on a forged medical certificate.
The ex-PM advised Nawaz Sharif to review his decisions and steps.
Ashraf also said that he was among those people who fought for peace and stability in Pakistan and was still living in the country.
