Anti-polio drive continues in Karachi, a day after seven policemen were shot dead in Orangi Town in separate attacks.

Policemen personnel were tasked with security of polio workers.

Law enforcement agencies (LEA) have vowed to ensure the protection of polio workers against miscreants.

On the other hand, funeral prayers of the martyred personnel were offered on Wednesday in the presence of Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah, Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, Director-General (DG) Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar, and Inspector-General (IG) Sindh.

Eight terrorists, riding four motorcycles had attacked police in Orangi Bangla Bazaar killing three personnel and gunned down four others as they came across a police mobile minutes after.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack and stated that police were rendering sacrifices for peace in Sindh’s capital.

Home Minister confirmed that all polio workers remained unharmed in the attacks.
