A bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday ordered ceasing salaries of the provincial home secretary and the police chief over non-compliance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in the APS case.
The court issued the order while hearing a petition of the parents of the children killed in a terrorist attack on Army Public School Peshawar (APS) in which around 150 people, most of them children, were killed.
The petition filed in the court questioned inadequate security measures for the school despite serious terrorism threat.
A division bench headed by Chief Justice Peshawar High Court heard the case. The federation in its reply submitted in the court said that it had warned the provincial government about the security apprehensions before time, but the province failed to fulfill its duty.
The bench expressed its disappointment over the matter and ordered the federation to submit its report with relevant record.
The court also ordered the home secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and IG Police to submit reply within 15 days.
