At least three security guards were killed when four unidentified robbers intercepted a cash-carrying van and opened indiscriminate firing, killing three security guards in Samundri area on Thursday.
The armed robbers fled the scene along with cash looted from the van in a car. The amount of the looted cash could not be ascertained immediately. Local police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. A search operation was launched to apprehend the fleeing robbers. The bodies were shifted to the civil hospital for medico-legal formalities. A case has been registered against the unidentified robbers and investigation is in progress.
