A robber was killed in an exchange of fire with police in Rohilanwali area here on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off regarding the presence of criminals in Rohilanwali, the police conducted operation in the area. The robbers started firing at the police, which also retaliated. The encounter continued for about half an hour, during which one robber was killed while his three accomplices managed to escape.
The dead robber is stated to be involved in the murder of a policeman and dozens of robberies. His body was shifted to a mortuary for medico-legal formalities.
