Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday issued orders for early restoration of Lal Suhanara National Park by removing any bottlenecks in its uplift.
According to a press release, the prime minister also directed for early completion of ongoing projects for conservation of forests and protection of wildlife.
The Secretary Forests and other senior officials briefed the prime minister on wildlife and forest issues during his visit to Lal Suhanara National Park. He was also briefed on ongoing projects related to conservation and promotion of forests and wildlife.
These projects include uplift of Lal Suhanara National Park, revival of Patisar lake, conservation of native flora and fauna of Cholistan to provide sustained wildlife base, afforestation over 1,212 acres of blank area with Shisham, Kikar and other local species, wildlife breeding through breeding farms, enhancement of fines and compensation against illegal hunting and strengthening of wildlife protection forces in Cholistan.
Federal Minister for Information Senator Pervaiz Rashid, elected representatives, notables from Bahawalpur and adjoining areas and other senior officials were present at the briefing.
