More than 150 kites flyers and sellers were arrested in operations across the province on Sunday.

Thousands of kites and metallic strings were taken into custody.

The police continued operations against kites flyers and sellers in various cities of Punjab including the provincial capital Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and other cities.

During separate actions the police detained more than 150 persons involved in kites flying, selling and thousands of kites and metallic strings used for kites flying.

It is worth mentioning here that the provincial government in the wake of life, property losses and disruption in power supply has banned kites flying across and the chief minister has directed strict action against the culprits involved in business of kites, strings and those violated the ban on kites flying.

  1. What property loses are we talking about? What power interruptions are we talking about when these are routine rather than exception. There are more people killed every day in traffic accidents than those involved in kite flying. Let the poor earn a living and let people enjoy themselves. Let us stop the syndrome of BIG BROTHER WATCHING OVER US. A harmless enjoyment is made to look like a murderous activity.
