The Punjab government has allowed the Rawalpindi education department to fill over 1,300 vacant posts of teachers in the government schools across the district.
A source in the education department said that over 1,300 posts of teachers have been lying vacant in different schools have been lying vacant for the last many years.
“Almost all schools have been facing acute shortage of teachers of science, mathematics, biology, chemistry and Arabic due to non-appointment of new teachers,” the source said.
According to the source, applications from candidates will be invited in the next month and a five-member committee has been formed to look after the appointment issue.
