A senior official of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was injured on Wednesday when a team of the accountability watchdog was attacked by supporters of former Azad Kashmir president Raja Zulqarnain during a raid on his house.
According to details, the NAB team conducted a raid at Raja Zulqarnain’s house but they were met by stiff resistance of Zulqarnain’s personal guards who attacked the NAB team and injured Deputy Director Asghar Ali.
Earlier, NAB had arrested Raja Zulqarnain’s son on corruption charges in relation to the Rental Power Plant case. His son was arrested on charges of corruption amounting to Rs 128 billion.
Meanwhile, AJK Premier Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has taken notice of the attack and ordered an enquiry into the incident.
AJK leadership has generally been corrupt ,incapable and non commited to the cause of the state.They have looted the Government funds mecilessly thinking that they will never be anawerable for their black deeds.People like Raja sahib should be exposed to the public and brought to task so that they are not elected again.Unfortunately the Braadri system is an evil helping such so called leaders to come in power.Our media should play its role in educating people,particularly of AJK, in electing sincere,capable and honest leadership .
Akif sahb, the matter is in the court. firstly nab should have informed the accountability department of azad kashmir. secondly, the officers of nab needs to work professionally and not act as goons. if u read all newspapers, you will see a different picture. these goons went on to intice the family members after they had collected some docs from the house and started taking pictures of the family. this wqs enough for the guards to react. the family left him with only a minor bruise. the officer needs to act mature and work according to law otherwise such incidents will be of normal nature. before jumping onto conclusions, one must wait for the court’s decisions.
