Two cops booked for links with gang-war lords

At least two police officials were booked for their alleged links with Lyari gang war criminals on Friday.

Gang war suspect Waheed Niazi revealed during investigation in police custody at Docks police station that police were partner to gang war criminals in extortion, ransom and other crimes. He also revealed that the officers in Docks police station, Talib and Imran had been receiving money from the suspects. The police have registered cases against the accused officers.

Inspector General of Police (IG) Ghulam Haider Jamali was asked by media about these officers but he avoided any response. On being asked again about this revelation, he said black sheep in police department would soon be kicked out. Meanwhile, police officer Akram, accused of ransom, revealed during his custody with Rangers that his activities were well within the knowledge of his seniors.
