Teams formed to rein in filling stations with faulty scales

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Mushtaq Ahmed has constituted special teams for action against filling stations having faulty petrol or diesel nozzles.

According to the official sources of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, these teams would work in the rural and urban belts of the city and cover the entire capital.

During last 48 hours, these teams conducted checking of filling stations in secretariat, Shalimar, Golra, Kashmir Highway, Lethrar road, Melody market, Aabpara market, 17 Meel, Murree Road, Kashmir Chowk, Rawal Dam Chowk, Jinnah super market.

The checking teams imposed a fine of more than Rs 300,000 on various filling stations while three petrol pumps were also sealed and others were directed to ensure implementation on security and labour laws.

Deputy commissioner said that this campaign would continue in the coming days and no relaxation would be given to those violating weight and measures act, minimum wages act or selling open air petrol.
