NHA chairman caused Rs 650m losses to state kitty

Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Shahid Ashraf Tarar has facilitated two blue-eyed companies which has caused financial losses of approximately Rs.650 million to national exchequer and awarded the contract of Rs. 8 billion to them.

According to document received by Online, the chairman NHA has handed over the power, to award contract, from planning department to operation department without the duly permission of NHA authority. Shahid Ashraf Tarar severely violated the departmental rules and regulations by initiating these measures.

The report reveals that senior officials of NHA had severely opposed the chairman by awarding contracts to his blue-eyed companies.

The companies are Tahir Khan Brothers and Zadar Turkish Company who have been given the contract ignoring other companies who gave lower rates.
