Sialkot is badly hit by the worst load shedding of gas now a days which has virtually paralysed life in the city.
This situation became worse in December 2015 and is still prevailing.
Sialkot is a native district of two federal ministers namely – Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Zahid Hamid.
The SNGPL had already announced to provide gas for public relief from 06:00 am to 09:00 am in the morning and 06:00 pm to 09:00 pm in the evening, in a bid to enable the house hold consumers for cooking meals.
But there is no implementation on this, as the people found no gas during these timings. There is no implementation on this schedule.
The prevailing very low pressure of gas and hours-long daily gas load shedding badly hit the domestic life in Sialkot in such cold, foggy and misty weather.
A large number of the perturbed women with their children, staged a protest demonstration to protest gas load shedding.
The protesting women were carrying the kitchen items in their hands and they also marched on various inter-city roads besides, chanting anti-government slogans.
They said that almost all the congested residential , commercial and industrial areas of Sialkot city including Pakka Garha, Kotli Behram, Model Town, Gohadpur, Muslim Town, Kashmir Road, Pak Pura, Prem Nagar, Nishat Park, Pooran Nagar, Water Works, Green Wood Street, Nehal Chand Street , Dara Aaraaiyaan, Tajpura, Hajipura, Rangpura, Hajipura Ban, Naikapura, Mubarakpura, Muhammadpura, Kashmiri Muhallah, Hamza Ghaus, Shafi Da Bhatta, Imam Sahib, Fatehgarh and Muhallah Bijli Ghar were badly hit by the worst load shedding of gas.
On the other hand, the load shedding of gas for the domestic consumers has irked the consumers especially the females in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur, Chawinda, Badiana and surrounding areas.
The protesting women revealed that there was 16 to 18-hour long gas load shedding for the domestic consumers in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Uggoki, Chawinda, Badiana, Pasrur and surrounding areas.
The protested women said that they had gas for two hours daily after every midnight due to which they had to wake up in the nights to cook meal in the midnight.
When contacted, the local SNGPL officials avoided to give any comment.
