Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to computerise the visa process and data of Pakistan’s visa-holders and to continue developing databank of international non-governmental organisations (INGOs).
The minister issued these orders while chairing a meeting held to review the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for deportees from different countries, registration of INGOs, computerised visa regime, measures to enable National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA), and evolving a mechanism for reward system for police, Frontier Corps and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
During the meeting, the minister directed the NADRA to digitalise the visa process and the record of people desiring Pakistan’s visa. He also issued orders for making a databank of the INGOs for their smooth operation.
Nisar directed the Interior Ministry to finalise the SOPs for deportees keeping in view the kind of deportees and the reasons behind their deportation.
The minister directed the FIA to continue its operation against human traffickers and was briefed on the legal process taken against the arrested human smugglers.
He also issued directives for evolving a clear policy for reward system for police, FC and FIA officials for their encouragement. The meeting was attended by the NADRA chairman and senior officers of the NACTA and FIA.
