As many as 1,399 posts of teachers in BPS- 14 and above are unoccupied in educational institutions under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Islamabad, documents shared by an official of the CADD ministry reveal.
“The recruitment will begin once the issue of daily wage teachers and sacked employees was sorted out,” said the official. He also said that the ministry and FDE failed to pursue a case, whereby, the court ordered reinstated sacked employees, who had been fired for being inducted without proper procedure. According to the official, the CADD and the FDE did not file appeals as most sacked teachers, who were later reinstated, were close relatives of officials working in these two institutions.
According to the official, 54 teachers of BPS-16 and above were inducted through the Federal Public Service Commission during the year 2013-14 while different posts of BPS-17 have been referred to the FPSC. A case has been sent to the CADD for recruitment against the vacant posts, the official said.
