A large number of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees continued their protest on Tuesday against proposed privatisation of the national flag-carrier.
The employees staged a demonstration outside the PIA head office in Karachi and demanded to withdraw presidential ordinance regarding privatisation of the airline.
The leaders of PIA unions threatened to turn their protest into strike if the government did not take back the ordinance.
A meeting of PIA board of directors was also cancelled due to protest outside the PIA head office.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif directed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to ensure that no employee of PIA was laid off after privatisation.
