UK assured full cooperation in energy, education sectors: CM

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has returned to the country after successful visit to Britain and Turkey.
Talking at the media at Lahore airport, Sharif said that his recent tour to Britain and Turkey has been very successful and a number of MoUs were signed during the visit which will further increase economic cooperation with Britain and Turkey. He said the British government has assured full cooperation with Punjab government in health and education sectors. He said that meetings with British ministers and heads of different departments have been very fruitful.
The chief minister said that foreign investors expressed keen interest in UK-Pakistan Energy and Infrastructure Conference in London and expressed willingness in investment in Pakistan. He said that new avenues of cooperation have opened between Pakistan and Britain due to his visit.
Sharif said that useful meetings were held with Turk president, prime minister and Turk investors during his visit to Turkey. He said that assurance of cooperation from Turk President Tayyip Recep Erdogan in every sector is welcome and increasing cooperation with Turkey will touch new heights.
Meanwhile, the CM started his official engagements without taking rest.
Addressing a meeting soon after his arrival, Sharif said that on completion of one year of Army Public School Peshawar tragedy, rich tributes will be paid to the unprecedented sacrifices of great martyrs. He said that the beasts killed innocent children and teachers on December 16, 2014 and we can never forget sacrifices of these innocent children. He said that we will not rest content till the elimination of last terrorist from the motherland. The chief minister directed to hold functions for commemorating the sacrifices of martyrs of the Army Public School throughout the province. He said this day in the commemoration of martyrs of Army Public School will be remembered forever and its importance will never lessen. He said that the innocent children and teachers of Army Public School laid their lives for a great cause in the war against terrorism. He said that the blood of these martyrs will not go waste.
Sharif said that the entire nation has become united due to the blood of these children. He said that there is no room for terrorists and their facilitators in Pakistan. He reiterated that peace will be restored in Pakistan with exemplary unity of the nation. He vowed that Pakistan will be purged of terrorists.

Metro train to ensure economical travelling for commoners:Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting on Tuesday which reviewed the progress on the construction work of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that metro train is a unique and mega project in transport sector in the history of the country and no historical building or heritage will be affected due to this project. He said that metro train project will convert the transport problems of common man into a comfortable and economical travelling facility.
Sharif said that like other development projects, metro train project will also be completed with high quality and speed and no compromise will be made on construction work. He said metro train project will be a masterpiece of architecture. He said that after metro bus service, orange line metro train project is also for common man.
The chief minister said that he is personally monitoring the progress of the project. He directed that an effective traffic plan should be implemented strictly for smooth flow of traffic and there should be best arrangements for the protection of citizens during construction work. A briefing was given to the chief minister about the progress of the work. MNA Pervaiz Malik, Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan, Members Provincial Assembly Zaeem Qadri, Imran Nazir, Majid Zahoor, Chief Secretary, MD Punjab Mass Transit Authority, secretaries concerned, Commissioner Lahore and senior officials attended the meeting.
