Shehbaz for early completion of kidney, liver transplant hospital

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued orders for early completion of Rs 3.5 billion worth kidney and liver transplant hospital on Murree Road.

The 400-bed hospital will be constructed on 96 kanal and funds have been released in this regard. The chief minister has also ordered for completion of the up gradation project of Benazir Bhutto Hospital by March 31, a source in the health department told Online.

Former MNA and PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi, who is supervising these projects, said that kidney and liver transplant of the needy people will be carried out free of cost in the hospital while a fee will be charged from well off people. He said that orders were being placed for purchase of the state-of-the-art machinery for the hospital while recruitment of staff will be started in September next year. The five-storey hospital will be inaugurated by the chief minister, he said.
