Vegetable prices continue to rise

The prices of vegetable again witnessed significant increase at the city’s Sunday bazaars as compared to the last week, as onion, ladyfinger and capsicum have gone beyond the reach of commoners.
According to Sunday bazaars’ list, week the price of onion recorded an increase of Rs 6 per kilogramme. The price of onion was Rs 46 per kg against that of Rs 40 last Sunday.
Moreover, the price of ladyfinger recorded an increase of Rs 30, which was Rs 130 per kilogramme.
The prices of capsicum witnessed an increase of Rs 50, as it was sold at Rs 130 per kg against the previous week’s rate of Rs 80.
The prices of bitter gourd also witnessed an increase of Rs 10 Per Kg. It was available at Rs 90 per kg against the last week’s price of Rs 80.
Similarly, cucumber was sold at Rs 50 per kg against the price of Rs 40, recorded last week.
The prices of some other vegetables, including tomatoes, remained stable.
According to the list, ginger and garlic were sold at Rs 76 per kg each, while cabbage and cauliflower were available at Rs 36 and Rs 40 per kg. Potatoes were sold at Rs 18 per Kg.

This week the prices of gourd, green chilli and pumpkin recorded slight decrease. According to list, pumpkin was sold at Rs 40 against the previous week’s rate of Rs 50, while the price of green chilli decreased by Rs 4 and was available at Rs 76 per kg. The price of pumpkin also witnessed a decrease of Rs 4 and was sold at Rs 40 per kg.
According to list, the price of chicken remained stable at Rs 144 per kg.
In the fruit section, the prices of golden apple and orange witnessed an increase of Rs 20 and Rs 4 respectively. This week, apple golden was sold at Rs 140 per kg, while orange was available at the rate of Rs 86 per dozen.
