200 houses, commercial buildings sealed over non-payment of property tax

Excise and Taxation officials have sealed more than two hundred residential and commercial buildings in the city over non-payment of property tax.

Owners of these buildings had defaulted on more than Rs 10 million of taxes.

The grand operation against the defaulters was launched on the direction of Director Excise and Taxation Tanvir Abbas Gondal at commercial buildings along Murree road, Faizabad, Satellite Town, F-block, Pindora and those found to be non filers were issued warnings and their residential and commercial buildings were sealed.

Officials of E&T department made it clear that operation against the defaulters would continue and no leniency would be shown to anyone. They said that there were clear instructions from the Punjab government not to give any consideration to political pressure.
