Hope to recover missing Sundar survivors dwindling

The capabilities and training of rescue teams has been called in to question again as hope to recover the last of the still unaccounted Sundar survivors dwindles.

Although seven more bodies were recovered on Saturday, the fourth day of the operation, there was no end to quest for dear ones by some people. Some officials called into question a lack of capacity or training to tackle structure collapse disasters.

Forty people have been confirmed dead and there is a strong possibility that 20 people are still trapped in the depth of the four-storey building wreckage. The district coordination officer confirmed 40 deaths, saying the rescue operation was likely to be completed in a day or two.
