Drive against sub-standard food continues

Drive against substandard food has continued as the district food team collected 102 samples from various eateries in the city during October, of them 60 were found substandard.

Food Inspector Naeem Changezi said that the team raided various places of the city and collected 102 food samples from eateries and sent them to Government Public Analyst Laboratory for analysis, of them 60 were declared sub-standard. He said the Food Department had also sent challans against the owners of sub-standard food outlets to the court for action.
He said that they had also visited Jamia Sweets and Bakers Shah Rukn-e-Alam on Saturday, got six samples and sent them to laboratory. He said the legal action would be taken after the report of samples.
Changezi said that raids are being conducted on daily basis during the ongoing campaign to provide quality food items to the citizens.
