Deadline to hospitals for proper disposal of hazardous waste

The Environmental Commission has proposed six months timeframe for dumping hazardous wastages of hospitals in the federal capital.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had formed the commission to identify causes and reasons behind the increasing environmental pollution in the federal capital.

The commission has proposed that clinics, dispensaries, private and government hospitals in Islamabad should install incinerators to recycle hazardous waste including syringes, drips, pharmaceutical, infections and other wastages; also stating that the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences should be given one year’s time for the installation of incinerator.

The secretary of Ministry of Climatic change should monitor the pace of work on the project and implementation of the task by submitting a report after every three months,  the commission has proposed
