Sindh Chief Secretary (CS) Muhammad Siddique Memon on Wednesday asked the Secretary Industries Sindh to ensure implementations of the decisions taken at a meeting held the other day regarding Combined Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) in all industrial areas of Karachi for eradication of industrial waste discharge in the sea.

Referring to the discussion regarding solid and liquid waste management, the CS reiterated that coordinated efforts must be undertaken in collaboration with the industrialist associations, including FPCCI and KATI, as well as DHA and Cantonment Boards.

Memon also noted that the Departments of Planning and Development, Local Government, Environment, Industries, Finance and Implementation and Coordination of SGA and CD must do the needful, while KWSB should give priority to this task under S-III Project.

He appreciated the pledge made by the Finance Division, Government of Pakistan, for funds release, as per requests by Sindh government, for S-III Project. Memon lauded the assurance given by KPT, PQA, DHA, Cantonment Boards, and the industrialist associations for performing their vital role and contributing required funds in connection with the implementation of S-III Project.
