Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has offered assistance for the people of the earthquake affected areas.
PIA’s offer came after a meeting held in Islamabad on Tuesday under the supervision of the PIA Chairman Nasser NS Jaffer to assess the situation and the airline’s readiness to set up collection points for relief goods and to transport them to the affected areas.
The national flag career will airlift relief goods free of cost from domestic as well as PIA’s International destinations after authorisation from the federal government and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
PIA has already activated its emergency response centres in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar to facilitate relief efforts for the citizens affected by the devastating earthquake.
