Supreme Court (SC) on Monday ordered for clubbing all the petitions seeking removal of five SIMS per CNIC limit for data SIMS and fixing them for hearing together.

Justice Umar Atta Bandial remarked PTA authorities are giving undue benefit to PTCL with reference to use of data SIM. Why does not the law apply to Evo of PTCL. This is discriminatory treatment and it should be readdressed.

A three-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali took up the case for hearing Monday.

During the course of hearing, counsel for Mobile Company Zong told the court that data SIM cannot be used in mobile phone for calls.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) Rana Waqar said the SC had slapped limit during hearing of Karachi law and order case. In addition to this, a petition filed by President Balochistan High Court bar is also pending hearing.

The CJP remarked as to why all the petitions be not clubbed and then heard.

The hearing of the case was adjourned for one week.
